Job Description:
We are recruiting for a Production Manager to work for a key client of ours based in Brierley Hill. You do need to have over 5 years experience in a similar role. Ideally a background in plastics would be ideal.
The objective of this role will be to lead the factory team to achieve the production plan, ensuring safety, delivery, productivity, quality targets are all achieved through the most efficient and safe use of equipment, materials and manpower thus supporting the customer and business needs.
Main Role Duties / Scope: * Ensure all employees comply with the companies Life Saving Rules by managing Health, Safety and Environmental aspects, keeping a safe and organised workplace through deployment of effective 5S+ activities and risk assessments to minimise all accidents and near misses.
* Be an influential manager in the senior management team.
* Responsible for production output achieving targets required to maintain a profitable business in accordance with budget expectations.
* Take the lead for all production personnel including support services Maintenance, Toolroom, & Technical support.
* Lead this team and maintain its strength together.
* Manage the compliance to companies standard, ensuring Standard Work is in place and is the method used for all activities providing a flexible system to cater for customer needs.
* Lead Improvement activities using A3 and QOS to reduce scrap levels and escalate issues where support is required.
* Conduct daily process checks to verify Quality, EHS and Productivity to the approved and expected standard. Capture any ideas for improvement and lead these to completion.
* Improve profitability through the minimisation of costs and the use of continuous improvement.
* Use tools including Rapid Improvement events and kaizen involving employees in the work areas to gain commitment to change and build employee engagement and empowerment.
* Collect and analyse measures and report to daily tier meeting any issue where support is required outside business unit control.
* Drive down costs of Scrap, Efficiency & improving OEE.
Person Specification / Required Skills:
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and feel comfortable interacting with colleagues at all levels within the business. Candidates must have a proactive and hands on approach to tasks alongside high levels of problem-solving skills. You should be capable of working to your own initiative, and competent in satisfying demanding deadlines.
" Management qualification or minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
" Plastics production experience over 5 years.
" Technical background in plastics.
" Manage multiple discipline teams.
" Team player who will take the lead.
" Engineering qualification.
" Plastics Tooling & maintenance
" Injection moulding machine maintenance
" Health and Safety experience
