Job Description:
Head of Accounts - Property
Salary: £30k - £32k + company benefits
Location: Burgess Hill (office based)
Hours: Mon - Fri 9am - 17.30pm
Free off-street parking
My client is looking for a proactive, hardworking and diligent head of Accounts to lead the block management accounts team of four, to manage their workflow and ensure deadlines are met.
You will have a proven background in managing a small team with experience in a property management accounts role, ideally block is preferred. You will enjoy a challenge and be a natural problem solver with the ability to motivate and get the best out of your team.
Responsibilities:
* Managing a small team, delegating workloads and ensuring deadlines are met.
* Implementing new procedures and systems to maximise efficiency.
* Raising and sending service charge and ground rent invoices monthly & quarterly
* Bank Reconciliation.
* Working with the external accountants to prepare year end accounts.
* Assisting the property managers with budgets, debtors and credit control.
* Dealing with escalated accounts-based queries and ensuring clients are responded to in a timely manner.
* Working alongside the Head of Block management to ensure the smooth running of the department.
* Financial reporting.
* Interviewing, recruitment and onboarding new employees.
* Coaching, mentoring your team to reach their full potential.
The right candidate will have the following skills and experience to apply:
* Proven experience of managing finance team.
* Ideally AAT Level 3 qualified or QBE.
* A natural problem solver with the ability to troubleshoot and make process and system amendments to improve efficiency.
* Background in accountancy, bookkeeping and ideally the property industry.
* Great IT skills inclusive of Excel, using accountancy software, and property CRM system Qube would be an advantage.
* Confident communicator, with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
* Strong team player with a great work ethic.
