Job Description:
Role Overview My client, a private equity backed sme seeks a dynamic and experienced Financial Controller to provide interim support to the finance team. This role requires a qualified ACCA/CIMA professional with the ability to quickly grasp complex financial details, lead effectively, and maintain a pragmatic approach.

Key Responsibilities: Team Management
* Responsibility for the transactional finance team (3 heads)
Month-End & Reporting:
* Coordinate month-end activities to achieve a Flash position by WD6.
* Conduct variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior year.
Reporting:
* Board Pack preparation.
* Perform ad-hoc analysis and reporting.
Payroll & Headcount:
* Review monthly payroll submissions.
* Update headcount data and manage cost centre changes.
* Provide advice on PSA, P11Ds, employee benefits, and payroll queries.
Forecasts & Budgets:
* Prepare monthly forecasts and annual budgets.
* Support the Finance Director in updating Consolidated P&L and annual budget processes.
Compliance:
* Conduct monthly emissions reporting.
* Coordinate year-end audit with PWC.
* Review statutory accounts and support external consultants.
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant who is self-motivated, confident, and can take ownership of critical finance activities and processes. You will be methodical, detail-oriented, and able to prioritise effectively. Technically, you must have expertise in month-end close, P&L, and balance sheet reporting and have advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
This role is offered on a fixed term contract basis at c£75,000 to £80,000 and is on site 3 days per week.
