Job Description:
Role Overview

An opportunity for a bright, ambitious and qualified surveyor at Surveyor/Senior Surveyor/Associate or Associate Director level (dependent on experience) to join the Cardiff Development team. This is a successful and expanding team specialising in the acquisition and disposal of a variety of property types, providing advisory services and valuation advice on a wide range and mix of properties across South, West and Mid Wales.

We are seeking a candidate with the ability and enthusiasm to focus on the growth of the valuation and consultancy business within the team. The successful candidate will be part of a team of 8, but working closely with the 2 team Directors, other members of the development team and colleagues from other departments to provide robust advice to our clients.

The ideal candidate will have either a valuation, agency or developer background and be capable of supporting, winning, leading and executing instructions across our operating region.
The candidate should be interested in challenging projects, and demonstrate the ability to think long term, whilst retaining a focus on how to best extract value for clients and profit for the team. The candidate should also have a good contact base of contacts and a good awareness of Welsh policies and market conditions.

Key Responsibilities
• Providing valuation and consultancy advice to both private and public sector clients
• Supporting the disposals and acquisitions of development opportunities across South Wales
• Support pitches, targeting and winning new business and agreeing the scope of instructions / fees
• Conducting site search analysis and land assembly
• Technical ability to liaise with other design team professionals e.g. architects, QS, planning advisors
• Point of contact for clients and management of client relations
• Liaison with all departments within Savills and external development teams 
Key Skills
• MRICS qualified
• RICS Registered Valuer desirable but not essential
• Experience of using Argus Developer desirable
• Strong verbal, numerical and report writing skills
• Ability to manage several projects at once – organisational and prioritisation skills
• Good knowledge of industry news and market developments
• Motivated, displaying energy, drive and commitment
• A team player, both within the immediate team and wider Savills business.
• Strong knowledge of the development process
• Attention to detail and well organised
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical skills with a strategic approach to problem solving
• Computer literate, particularly Excel, modelling skills

Team Overview
The Cardiff DevelopmentTeam has 7 team members, 2 Directors, an Associate Director, 2 Associates, a graduate and team administrator. We will also be joined by another graduate in September 2024.

We are a collegiate team and share project work amongst us and work very closely with colleagues in our planning, new homes and commercial teams. We specialise in all areas of Development, i.e. Valuation, Viability, Consultancy, Strategic Land and Agency. Key clients include Local Authorities, Welsh Government, Developers, Health Authorities, Housing Associations, Funders and Private Landowners.
