This Public Sector organisation brings together members from the nature conservation bodies for England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and independent members appointed by the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs under an independent Chair.

Your new role

This position is a fixed-term contract for 2 years with the possibility for extension or transition to a permanent role. You will be based on the UK APAS project working alongside Nature Conservation Bodies, devolved administrations, research institutions and non-governmental organisations.
You will be a part of the UK APAS team and will communicate with the Environmental Pollution Team within JNCC more widely, you’ll also be supporting the Product Management and Customer Contact Functions by providing technical advice.
Main duties include...
* Use Air Quality expertise to ensure users have questions answered efficiently and effectively
* Asses technical queries to escalate urgent requests
* Respond to technical queries and knowledge articles
* Data analysis and mapping to aid Product Development and technical documentation
* Public facing responsibilities on occasion


What you’ll need to succeed


* A degree in a relevant Air Quality or Environmental field
* Demonstrable experience in a technical Air Quality role, ideally in nature conservation (ecosystems, habitats and species)
* Excellent teamwork and communication skills
* Ability to explain technical subjects to non-specialist audiences
* Awareness of policy development for conservation of nature
* Knowledge of relevant air pollution and environmental legislation
* Solutions focused with great problem-solving skills
* Experience providing a high quality and tailored service
