Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Engineer
Location: Glenrothes, Scotland
Hours: Full Time - Dayshift 8am - 4pm

Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a maintenance team in Glenrothes. This role involves both planned and preventative maintenance, electrical maintenance & installations, mechanical breakdowns, and repairs to ensure the business objectives are met. With continued investment on site, this role is crucial to supporting the business vision and strategy moving forward. While the primary focus is on electrical maintenance, experience in mechanical maintenance is highly advantageous as the role will also involve significant mechanical work. The role will evolve as the site progresses with improvement projects, such as automation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general maintenance, installations, and repairs on equipment both planned and preventative.
- General site electrical maintenance (including offices, shopfloor, warehouse, and grounds)
- Overtime call out duties for emergency electrical issues as required.
- Support the Continuous Improvement Manager in coordinating with third-party contractors.
- Ensure maximum uptime and minimum downtime of all operations.
- Collaborate with production and toolroom teams to prioritise and address machine breakdowns.
- Manage equipment and plant breakdowns effectively, taking appropriate remedial action in areas such as PLCs, electrical control systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Implement a safe system of work for predictive, preventative, and planned maintenance.
- Assist factory operatives in troubleshooting machine issues and faults.
- Source and collect replacement parts for emergency breakdowns and equipment failures.
- Maintain records for planned and preventative maintenance schedules.
- Participate in project engineering initiatives, including automation, new asset installations, electrical compliance, upgrades, and electronics.
Health & Safety Responsibilities:
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping in your working area (6S).
- Participate actively in health and safety initiatives and events.
- Ensure all guarding and safety equipment is in place and used appropriately.
- Wear personal protective equipment when required, including safety glasses and steel toe cap boots.
- Report all health and safety or maintenance issues.
- Comply with all relevant safety regulations and site procedures.
Experience and Skills Required:
- Self-motivated individual capable of working independently or as part of a small team.
- Experienced in repairing and maintaining a wide range of manufacturing/production equipment.
- Knowledge of power press and progressive die stamping operations preferred.
- Proven experience in a heavy industrial environment.
- Ability to read electrical drawings.
- Strong understanding of BS7671 wiring regulations.
- IPAF certification is desirable.
- Experience working alongside contractors.
- Experience with preventative planned maintenance and TPM systems.
- 17th/18th edition qualified.
- Minimum HNC/Apprentice trained.
- Ability to fault find PLCs.
- Industrial manufacturing environment experience is ideal.
- Ability to work at height.
