Description
* Provide expert and strategic legal advice within lending, equity, asset finance, project finance, and debt restructuring.
* Set internal governance policies and manage the impact of external factors.
* Anticipate issues and estimate risks strategically.
* Identify proactive solutions that will eliminate or mitigate risks.
* Deal with complex, significant matters that cut across legal and related areas.
* Ensure legal compliance and risk management.
* Create associations of trust and respect with key stakeholders.
* Attract, develop, direct, motivate and drive performance from team.
Profile
The successful Senior Legal Counsel should have:
* Professional qualification as a Solicitor or Barrister in the UK.
* Experience within banking and lending.
* Proven track record of providing expert and strategic legal advice.
* Strong knowledge of corporate law and legal issues pertaining to the public sector.
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
