Health and Safety Officer covers deep dive audits into all areas as specified below and covers a diverse range safety and compliance issues, including asbestos, legionella, lifting operations and equipment, DSE compliance etc, and assisting with H&S policies and procedures.
Description
Assist with H&S policies and procedures.
Assist with accidents and incidents investigations and follow through to closure.
Create annual audit plans.
Report activities and manage, circumstances, practices and matters that may give rise to serious or imminent risk of injury to staff, students and members of the general public to the Assistant Director SHE and relevant line manager.
Undertake deep dive audits of:
* Asbestos,
* Legionella,
* Pressure systems,
* Lifting operations and lifting equipment,
* Statutory inspections,
* Electrical installations,
* Control of Contractors,
* DSE compliance, etc.
Profile
* Recognised health and safety qualification, minimum standard National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
* Experience of writing risk assessments
* Experience of advising others on health and safety
* Experience of writing risk assessments
* Good knowledge of current health and safety legislation
* Good level of computer literacy (WP, spreadsheet and database applications)
