Accounts Assistant
Full time, permanent
We’re looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our busy Finance department at MSC UK.
Assisting the Financial Accountant with all aspects of financial compliance and reporting of a UK entity under IFRS, preparation of working papers relating to month end and year end reporting, PSA, Corporation Tax, VAT and Carbon reporting.
Skills and experience you’ll bring to us
* AAT qualified/qualified by experience
* Proven interpersonal, communication, written and analytical skills
* Proactive approach whilst looking to make continuous improvements
* Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
* High attention to detail and accuracy
* Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills
Desirable skills:
* Knowledge and experience of SAP Financials
* Consolidated Accounting
* Tax experience including preparation of VAT returns, Pay as you Earn Settlement Agreements, Corporation Tax computations
* Experience in different elements of finance functions, e.g. credit control, maintenance of bank records/reconciliations, purchase ledger, payroll
How you will help us and what you can expect
* Assist with the production of statutory accounts in accordance with the relevant accounting principles and legislation
* Assist in the preparation of the audit working papers for the year end including Group reporting and intercompany
* Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations for review by Financial Accountant for month end reporting
* Monthly reporting for debtors / creditors / intercompany
* Input fixed asset data, including preparing journals for the monthly movements for review by Financial Accountant and assist in production of monthly reports
* Review new suppliers following IR35 checklist
* Input monthly payroll journals to SAP and reconcile reports to trial balance
* Run trial balance for month end reporting and maintain links to balance sheet reconciliations
* Assist with the production of working papers for PSA, Corporation Tax and SECR
* Prepare the VAT return for review by Financial Accountant
