The role
This role is UK based, and is part of the regulatory reporting & group reporting team which is also based in Ireland and Bermuda. This is a very broad role, with responsibilities covering both Group and entity regulatory reporting and tax functions.
Key accountabilities
Duties & Responsibilities
* Drive data improvements throughout to assist with quality regulatory reporting
* Insurance Premium Tax ("IPT") returns. Including improvement of processes and reconciliation between finance and operation data
* Involved with the preparation and final delivery of some of the following activities: * Preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts and financial supplements for the IG group of Companies
* External UK GAAP financial statements for UK legal entities
* Prepare and monitor the monthly reporting timetable to ensure all deadlines are met
* Responsible for the collation of data and preparation of rating agency capital returns (S&P and AM Best)
* Preparation of the monthly accounting entries including consolidation adjustments and reports on consolidated results
* Assist with the collation of data and reports for distribution to the Actuarial function on a monthly and quarterly basis
* Solvency II returns (QRTs) for annual and quarterly submissions for the UK entity
* Assist in preparation of narrative reporting (SFCR and RSR)

* Liaise with internal and external audit
* Support the establishment of accounting controls and procedures for regulatory reporting
* Maintain and improve internal controls and procedures documentation
* Ad hoc projects as required
Skills & experience
Minimum Qualifications, Skills & Experience
* A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
* 1-3 years’ post qualification experience preferably gained in an insurance/reinsurance environment and a solid accounting foundation and working knowledge of the ledger
* Strong knowledge of the Microsoft suite of applications with expert excel skills
* Detailed knowledge and experience of US GAAP and UK GAAP for insurance accounting
* Advanced and proven financial, analytical and organizational skills
