Science Graduate Teaching Assistant
Location: Mainstream Secondary School, Merton, South-west London
Start Date: Immediately or September 2024
Position: Full-Time, Long-Term contract

Join our dynamic Science department at a thriving Secondary School in Merton as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. Role and Responsibilities:
* Support the Science department in delivering high-quality lessons across KS3 and KS4.
* Assist teachers with lesson preparation, classroom management, and student support.
* Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who need additional help.
* Supervise and facilitate engaging science experiments and practical sessions.
* Help to create and maintain an engaging and inclusive learning environment.
* Support students in developing their scientific knowledge and skills.
* Contribute to the assessment and monitoring of student progress.
* Undertake administrative tasks related to the Science department.
Requirements:
* A degree in a Science-related field (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, etc.).
* A passion for science and a desire to share this with young people.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
Preferred:
* Previous experience working with children or young people in any capacity.
* A proactive and enthusiastic approach to education.
Salary:
* Pay is dependent on experience and qualifications.
