Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the accounts receivable ledger, ensuring timely collection of outstanding invoices.
* Conduct thorough credit checks and assess the creditworthiness of new and existing customers.
* Set, review, and manage credit limits based on comprehensive risk assessments and company policies.
* Implement and refine credit control procedures to optimize the collection process.
* Follow up on overdue accounts and develop effective collection strategies.
* Negotiate payment plans and settlements with customers, ensuring adherence to agreed terms.
* Maintain accurate and detailed records of all credit control activities and customer communications.
* Prepare and present regular reports on accounts receivable status and overdue accounts to senior management.
* Liaise with internal departments to resolve complex customer queries and disputes.
* Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant legislation.
* Mentor and support junior credit control staff, providing guidance and training as needed.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Senior Credit Controller or in a similar senior credit control role.
* In-depth understanding of credit control processes and procedures.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
* Proficiency in credit control software and financial systems.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred.
* Professional qualifications such as CICM (Chartered Institute of Credit Management) are advantageous.
