They are seeking a passionate CAD Technician to join their Nuclear team, primarily working to assist with CAD work. The CAD Technician will perform CAD tasks, including As-builts, drawing modifications, and conversions from .PDFs or TIFFs, requiring a solid understanding of control systems and circuits. The CAD Technician will also be responsible for designing electrical hardware systems, site surveying, and supporting testing and commissioning. Travel within the UK and flexible working hours are required.
Essential Requirements of the CAD Technician:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical.
- Ability to design and modify instrument loop and control circuit drawings.
- Familiarity with electrical panels containing Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and/or Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
- Knowledge of Motor Control Centres, motor control gear, instrumentation, and compliance with IEC BS EN 60439-1 standards.
- Strong understanding of control, electrical, and instrumentation circuits.
- Capability to develop technical solutions that meet project and customer expectations.
- Experience in documentation and activities related to electrical design, installation, testing, and commissioning (desired).
- Working knowledge of BS7671 IEE 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (desired).
- Understanding of IEC BS EN 60439-1 standards for low-voltage switchgear and control gear assemblies (desired).
