ASSISTANT FMCG BUYER OPPORTUNTIY IN AYLESBURY! * Competitive Salary: £30k - £35k per annum
* Location: Onsite (Aylesbury)
* Job Type: Full-time
We are seeking an Assistant FMCG Buyer who will play a crucial role in the buying functions and its administration, directly impacting the success and profitability of our company. This position involves active collaboration with team members across all levels, including senior management, as well as engagement with suppliers and customers.
Day to Day of the role: * Maintain an accurate supplier database, ensuring all pricing and product information is current.
* Accurately enter purchase orders into the system and issue confirmations to suppliers.
* Manage buying and stock, including monthly sales reporting to review category/brand performance.
* Oversee the promotional and new product development forward planner.
* Liaise with various departments to ensure projects are delivered on time and within schedule.
* Select new products, review existing ones, and conduct cost negotiations to ensure purchases are within budget.
* Research and select the right suppliers, maintaining stock control of inventory.
* Analyse market trends to make informed buying decisions and respond to changes in customer demand.
* Generate reports and forecast future sales.
Required Skills & Qualifications: * Strong commercial and market awareness.
* Confident communicator and relationship builder.
* Strong analytical and numerical skills, with proficiency in Excel.
* Self-driven and motivated with the ability to work dynamically in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills.
* Exceptional organisational skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
* Ability to multi-task with diligent prioritisation of tasks.
* Ambitious and driven with a “My business” mentality.
