Job Description:
We are working with a public sector organisation who urgently needs to appoint an experienced Senior Administrator with previous team manager/leader experience on a full time basis based in Castleford,WF10.
The successful candidate will provide day to day operational management of administrative staff, ensuring work priorities and the needs of the operation teams are met.

Key Outcomes/ Activities
* To provide leadership and management to a team of business support staff.
* To assist the Administration & Business Support Team Leader in ensuring an effective support service for Service Managers, Team Managers and practitioners providing a customer focused service at all times
* To undertake line management and organise the efficient delivery of administrative assistance and support to meet the requirements of the service, ensuring comparable workloads across the team.
* Effectively manage workloads of the team and self to ensure that deadlines are met.
* To arrange meetings and conferences. Prepare agenda’s, papers and documents for meetings, attend meetings and produce minutes as required and collate and distribute papers and documents as required.
* To assist the Administration & Business Support Team Leader to ensure that staff are fully trained in all administration and business support duties to support flexible working and be able to prioritise and deploy resource based on service requirements.
* To maintain an up to date knowledge of administration functions across the Service and be prepared to provide direct administrative support services during times of leave, absence and to assist with workload priorities and pressures.
* Assist the Administration & Business Support Team Leader / Budget Holder in providing budget information to assist with the analysis of budget information.
* To give formal personal supervision and appraisal to a number of admin staff in accordance with the Dignity at work Policy including identifying training needs for their personal development with the aim of maintaining skills and knowledge in accordance with the changing requirements of the post.
* Motivate and develop staff in accordance with council policies and procedures.
* Under the guidance of the Administration & Business Support Team Leader monitor and manage sickness absence in line with council’s policies and procedures.
* Assist with the recruitment, selection and induction of business support staff.
* To undertake any other duties as directed by the Administration & Business Support Team Leader / Team Manager that are commensurate with the grade of the post.

An understanding of social care and support services would be a strong advantage and very transferable e.g Vulnerable adults, child support, hospital admissions, GP Surgery.

Starting salary £13.69 per hour
Working hours: Mon - Thur 8.30am - 5pm, Fri 8.30am - 4.30pm.
Initially a temporary contract - good opportunity with public sector client to become permanent.
