Inspire People is working with a large public sector client looking for an experienced Senior Product Owner to join a large, high profile and complex programme of work. As the Senior Product Owner, you will be accountable for analysing, prioritising and translating business requirements into technical units of data and analytics work that are implementable by a Scrum Agile development team. Circa £495 per day INSIDE IR35. 12 months (Approx. 235 working days) Hybrid working (up to 2 days a week) in London.

The Senior Product Owner will be a specialist in one of the following product areas:
* Back office revenue solutions such as payments, rating, master data, data processing, integration
* Front-end user interface systems such as portals, CRM, mobility platforms
* Transport specific solutions such as GIS, asset management, rostering/scheduling
* Data Products including the construction of data warehouse/analytics solution (for roles in Data and Analytics)

Key Knowledge and skills required for this role are:
* Develop strong, effective backlogs in an agile environment, including gathering requirements, developing effective user stories, and gathering feedback from stakeholders to incorporate into the backlog for future development.
* Communicate with non-technical stakeholders about complex technical concepts to effectively define and prioritise features, refine scope, and collect story acceptance criteria.
* Balance competing tasks and demands effectively, answer questions, and provide prioritisation calls quickly, ensuring all assigned development teams are able to build consistently and are not held up waiting on responses.
* Organise and manage time effectively to ensure that features and stories are prepared and streamed to the teams to optimise the delivery flow.
* Engage and nurture stakeholders, by actively listening, negotiating, and managing conflicts to determine scope/prioritisation, identify problems, and determine solutions with business and technical stakeholders.
* Coordinate integrations and dependencies with other Product Owners to ensure that development aligns with deliveries from other teams in time, scope and performance, ensuring a quality end-to-end product.
* Identify and flag risks to delivery to the relevant teams, determine any suitable mitigations, assess the delivery impact to delivery and timelines, and escalate rapidly as required.
* Assess and improve product processes within their teams, product areas, and on the wider programme to enhance the efficiency and quality of product development, agile practice and product strategy.
* Manage personal development and keep up to date with industry trends, agile methodology and improvement opportunities.
* Mentor and support other Product Owners and team members, enabling effective product knowledge transfer and onboarding of new team members.
* Senior Product Owner experience of at least 3+ years on projects of a similar size, scale and nature to Oval
* Technical skills and experience as a Product Owner:
* Experience in technical systems and data analysis.
* Experience in developing complex, high transaction back office systems
* Experience of implementing systems using Azure technologies (including but not limited to: - Functions, Storage, Service Bus etc);
* PCI compliant payment solutions; and SFIA competency-based resources would be desirable.
* Previous experience of working within the transport industry with a focus on journey construction, fares and payments
