A national top 50 law firm is recruiting a Senior Bids Manager to focus on bids and tenders across the UK in both the private and public sectors, based in Nottingham with hybrid working (3 days a week in office).
Operating in the Business Development department, you will work within the National Tenders and Bids team that has an impressive win rate. This position has high-level exposure to the partnership, reporting to the Associate Director who head of the Bids team . This role will have a key focus across all sectors, service lines and offices and would also suit a qualified solicitor / lawyer seeking to move into a bid manager role.
Key responsibilities:
* Working collaboratively as part of a team, identifying and logging opportunities, bid planning, "Bid no Bid" scoping, drafting SQ, RfP, ITT and similar responses
* Capable of leading on and drafting all aspects of bid responses
* Able to coach teams in rehearsing for presentations and interviews and lead internal and external debriefs
* Use project management skills and techniques to ensure well-planned, organised and controlled processes to drive bids forward.
* Formulating best practice on win strategy for each bid, including consideration of commercial strategies and clearly articulating the reasons for adopting those strategies
* Managing meetings confidently, inspiring enthusiasm and support
* Working with lawyers to formulate models for an attractive and profitable offer
* A focus on continual improvement of the quality of submissions
Essential skills include:
* Legal knowledge or experience of managing bids in a law firm
* Extensive experience of drafting bid responses for both the private and public sectors
* Manager level experience
* Excellent interpersonal and relationship skills
* Ability to work effectively, including under pressure, to meet multiple deadlines
* Excellent ability to work in a team and autonomously
* Excellent writing, communication and influencing skills
* Strong project management skills and techniques to help create and manage complex plans
* Proficient with Microsoft packages
