Job Description:
Our client
Our client is a leading Public Sector client in their field who are looking for a Communications Specialist to work proactively across the business and externally to deliver clear messaging about their services and raise profile and positive brand image, using a variety of methods to communicate effectively with internal and external audiences and sustain a long-term positive reputation.
The role
* Advise and lead appropriate communications to meet customer needs and business objectives and ensure key messages are delivered
* Lead the team’s approach to shaping key messages for a specific audience
* Manage the media, building good relationships and delivering an effective PR service, including identifying positive opportunities, writing and issuing effective and timely releases and advising on and providing responses, interacting with the media on major activities and issues, both planned and unplanned
* Actively work with teams to identify good news stories and ensure they’re promoted, as well as ensuring understanding of and adherence to the process for dealing with the media and identifying negative stories
* Deliver timely and relevant internal and external communications activities across the business for all audiences
* Deliver successful events for all audiences by organising, advising on and supporting events, and taking budgets into account
* Boost and safeguard digital presence and safeguard its quality by writing, publishing and overseeing website, intranet and social media updates.
Experience
* Good relevant communications and brand management experience including writing copy, creating documents and using a wide variety of communications methods successfully for a range of audiences
* Proven ability in effectively challenging and negotiating with stakeholders including customers, staff and board directors to ensure a successful outcome that protects Thirteen’s brand, image and reputation
* Experience of effectively managing local and national media, social media platforms and websites to maximise positive coverage of a business, raise its profile and maintain its positive reputation.
* Skilled in advanced communications techniques
