Job Description:
Gleeson Recruitment Group are working in partnership with a household name business in the West Midlands, who are looking to appoint an Internal Controls and Audit Manager, in a newly-created position.
This position involves leading the internal audit function, developing audit plans, performing risk assessments, and advising on best practices for internal controls.
Key responsibilities:
* Develop and implement a comprehensive internal audit plan.
* Design and implement a robust controls process.
* Conduct risk assessments and identify areas for improvement.
* Perform audits of financial, operational, and compliance processes.
* Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and provide recommendations for improvement.
* Monitor and report on the implementation of audit recommendations.
* Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
* Collaborate with various departments to enhance internal controls and mitigate risks.
* Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings to senior management and the board.
* Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure ongoing compliance.
* Provide training and support to staff on internal control and audit matters.
Qualifications and experience required:
* Must have a recognised (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) accountancy qualification
* Proven experience in internal auditing, external auditing, or internal controls.
* Experience of designing and implementing a controls process
* Strong knowledge of auditing standards, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.
* Proven ability to analyse complex processes and identify risks and control deficiencies.
* Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Proficient in audit software and Microsoft Office Suite.
