Job Description:
Are you someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and loves a good challenge? A dynamic company is on the lookout for a Purchasing Assistant to join their vibrant team! This is your chance to work in an engaging and supportive atmosphere where no two days are the same.
The Role: As a Purchasing Assistant, you’ll dive headfirst into the world of supply chain management. Your day-to-day activities will include:
* Building and maintaining strong, win-win relationships with suppliers.
* Managing and updating order schedules, ensuring timely shipments.
* Collaborating closely with the Purchase Ledger & Stores Teams to resolve delivery issues, invoice queries, and returns.
* Communicating effectively with the Stock Control Team about incoming deliveries and keeping the Delivery Calendar up-to-date.
* Updating shortage reports and ensuring all purchase orders (POs) are issued accurately.
* Checking supplier acknowledgements to highlight and correct discrepancies.
* Keeping supplier pricing up-to-date in the system.
* Assisting with supply chain improvement projects.
* Handling supplier returns and liaising with the wider team about out-of-stock items, product updates, and queries.
* Performing ad hoc duties to support the Purchasing and Supply Chain Team as needed.
Who They’re Looking For: If you have experience with MRP systems and processes, a background in purchasing or supply chain, and solid computer skills (especially Excel), then this could be the perfect fit for you. Here’s what else you’ll need to succeed:
* The ability to analyse and manipulate data.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* The capability to prioritise work independently and as part of a team to meet business deadlines.
* A methodical and systematic approach to tasks with excellent attention to detail.
* An understanding of supply chain processes.
* A basic understanding of technical drawings would be a bonus.
Why You’ll Love It: This is more than just a job – it’s an opportunity to grow and develop your skills in a supportive environment. You’ll be part of a team that values suppliers just as much as customers, working together to achieve great things.
