Job Description:
Horizon Teachers are working with an Alternative Provision in Lewisham who are looking to secure an SEN Teacher able to teach students between the ages of 11 and 16 years old. The school acts as the Local Authority Alternative Provision for children who have been excluded from Mainstream education due to behavioural reasons and also for those whose specific needs cannot be met in a Mainstream setting.

This state-of-the-art school is looking for a SEN Teacher able to effectively teach mainly Maths. They are open to both experienced teachers and ECTs and will pay to the relevant pay scale. Their aim is to equip students for reintegration, Further Education or employment, by providing them with a curriculum that gives them a chance to succeed beyond their statutory education into adulthood.

The ideal experience for the SEN Teacher role:

• Recent experience of working with students that have SEMH needs.
• Record of working with SENDCo and SLT to keep individual students on track.
• Show ability to manage the class and deal with challenging behaviour.
• A history of contribution to school and team objectives, a team player.
