Your new role
Southend Council are looking to appoint a Children Services Key Worker within a fixed term capacity for 6 months.
Hybrid working opportunities are available. However, you are required to be on-site at the Civic Centre a minimum of 2-3 days a week.The successful candidate will be expected to provide professional and comprehensive casework to children, young people and their families who have been identified as Children in Need (Sect.17 Children Act 1989).
Case loads are expected to be a maximum of 15 children, whereby, you will ensure that the needs of the children and their parents/carers are supported inline with their assessed needs.
Working alongside social workers, you will need to investigate, evaluate and analyse information on cases, demonstrating clarity of assessment, reliability of information, evidence conclusions and realistic action plans.
You will be fully supported in your role by way of formal supervision on a minimum monthly basis, alongside any additional support required if needed. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right applicants who are interested in working within a busy social work service.
What you’ll need to succeed
To be successful in this position, it is essential that you have knowledge of child protection and assessment, and have worked within a social care environment. You are required to have knowledge/experience of social work intervention, relevant legislation, regulations guidance & policy issues.
