Job Responsibilities: As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff, therapists, and other professionals to provide individualised support to students. Your responsibilities will include:
* Assisting with the implementation of EHCPs and behaviour management strategies.
* Supporting students in their academic activities, including reading, writing, and mathematics.
* Facilitating independent learning and engagement in classroom activities.
* Collaborating with teachers and therapists to adapt and modify curriculum materials to meet individual student needs.
* Promoting social interaction and fostering a positive classroom environment.
* Monitoring and recording student progress, behaviour, and achievements.
* Assisting in the supervision of students during break times, outings, and extracurricular activities.
* Maintaining a safe and clean classroom environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Relevant teaching assistant qualification or equivalent
* Relevant experience working with children with complex needs and learning difficulties is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of special education strategies and practices.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
* A genuine passion for supporting the educational development of children with diverse needs.
* First aid and safeguarding certifications are advantageous.
