Cedar is recruiting an Interim Senior Finance Manager to join an impactful charity based in the North West. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for overseeing financial processing and reporting, collaborating with budget holders and the fundraising team on issues and oversights and ensuring the smooth running of finance functions in line with associated internal controls, policies and procedures.
Rate: £250 - £300 per day (Inside IR35)
Location: North West
Hybrid: 3-4 days in the office
Responsibilities
* Oversee the efficient delivery of month-end accounting and reporting and preparation of statutory accounting and year end audits.
* Lead VAT and HMRC submissions and reporting.
* Mitigate risk and safeguard the charity in accordance with internal policies and procedures.
* Line manage and develop a team of up to 10 finance professionals.
* Support budget holders with preparation of budgets and income projections and join monthly review meetings.
* Review monthly reconciliations of income and expenditure and balance sheet accounts.
* Ensure statutory accounts align with SORP and audit files are in accordance with best practice.
* Create reports on events and analysis of management accounts and deliver to stakeholders.
* Supervise the accuracy of all forms of data and financial records, suppliers and payments, and fixed assets, accruals etc.
* Guarantee adherence of payment terms during uploads to BACS online banking system.
* Participate in discussions on system and process improvements.
* Act as first point of contact for all finance-related queries.
Requirements
* Qualified CCAB Professional Accountant
* 3 years of relevant experience ideally within a charity.
* Proficiency with MS Office Suite and Accounts Systems (e.g. NAV, ERP systems).
