Job Description:
Key Purpose of the Job
* Assist in the growth of the business to the next level as outlined in the five-year financial plan.
* Build an Engineering Team with the skills necessary for growth, particularly in new areas such as IEC61850 Projects and the Design and Build of Large Transmission Projects. This may involve setting up an Engineering Team in India.
* Represent the company at BEAMA meetings.
* Support business development in Transmission, Renewable, Industrial sectors, and new geographical regions.
* Promote synergy between India and UK operations and help develop new business opportunities using joint capabilities.
* Willingness to travel 2-3 days a week to visit customers and/or the factory (Ulverston).
* Willingness to travel overseas once every 2-3 months for a week.
Key Result Areas * Recruit a new Engineering Team to manage the engineering aspects of new projects in growth areas.
* Expand technical capabilities.
* Introduce new products/services in growth areas to impact orders, sales, and profit positively.
* Achieve customer qualification and product approvals for non-core business and new sectors/geographies for core business.
* Participate in key conferences and exhibitions to promote the company and the Group.
* Promote specific protection and power training services.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities * Engage with Transmission Utilities, Utilities, and Academia to understand emerging technologies and create a growth strategy.
* Support the Business Development Manager in technical selling to utilities, industry, renewable energy, and railway applications, including approvals, qualifications, or prescriptions for non-core products.
* Support the Business Development Manager in promoting the Engineering Service Offering to OEM, EPC, and end users in protection, control, and switchgear engineering.
* Take ownership of developing, finalising, and monitoring the execution of multi-year product development plans with Engineering and Development teams.
* Assist with growth programmes developed by India and UK teams, leveraging low-cost engineering and manufacturing in India and disciplined processes in the UK.
* Develop new customer relations and promote joint interests of S&S Power and the UK.
Educational Qualifications * BSc in Electronics or Electrical Engineering + Electronics
* 10 years + of experience in Control, Protection, and Automation Industry
* 5 years of experience leading a team of 10-15 persons
