We have an exciting opportunity for a Category Buyer to join our clients Procurement team based in their Head Office in Manchester.
The Category Buyer will work to understand the internal stakeholder needs for the assigned Indirect Product Categories, actively source services or goods in line with Company Policy, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
The successful candidate will have a proven background in procurement with strong commercial awareness, and relevant experience in managing and negotiating Indirect categories. A good working knowledge of a category management approach is also essential for the role.
Our client offers a blended approach to work, giving you the flexibility to work from home 2 days per week on mutually agreed days. Responsibilities:
* Act as Category manager for the assigned Product Categories: developing sourcing strategies at a Country level, analysing sourcing performances, implementing and collaborating for action plan;
* Support the internal stakeholders, in the assigned Categories, with their understanding of and adherence to company policies and Global guidelines.
* Contribute to the continual development and improvement of Procurement procedures.
* Work with the Internal Stakeholders to establish and maintain a consistent approach to performance management across a range of suppliers and contracts with the aim of reducing cost and improving service levels.
* In managing the associated Product categories, to act in order to guarantee the sustainability targets of the Group about the supply chain, and the zero emission target in 2035 for the Client.
* Work closely with the Legal team, ensuring that collaborative relationships and contracts are implemented with strategic suppliers that also ensure Chiesi’s interests are protected and risks are minimized.
* Undertake research on possible new suppliers prior to a tendering process/procurement of goods and service and share options and/or market developments with stakeholders.
* Train and mentor stakeholders from all areas of the business on Procurement processes.
* Support the Internal stakeholders to undertake timely and regular supplier management reviews and if necessary, implement corrective action planning with suppliers.
* Identify and forecast any procurement gaps or risks that the business needs to address and develop a mitigation plan.
* Identify and capture any intangible and tangible value delivered by Procurement.
* For the 20% of the time work with a corporate team focused on the development of Global strategic projects in a certain Product category, with a functional report to a Global Category Leader.
* In line with annual objectives, contribute and support the UK Affiliate in its pursuit to become more sustainable, ensuring that you and/or your teams commit to and deliver at least 2 initiatives each year.
What you’ll need :
* Proven background in Procurement with strong commercial awareness, and relevant experience in managing and negotiating Indirect categories.
* Able to develop and execute Procurement strategy.
* Good working knowledge of a category management approach.
* Well developed relationship management skills, coupled with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Negotiation and networking skills.
* Good organised approach with strong project management skills.
* Customer focused, with experience of working with and leading cross functional stakeholder groups through Procurement processes to deliver organisational benefits.
* Interest and knowledge in Sustainable Procurement topic.
* Self-motivated with good organisational skills and the ability to work under own initiative.
* Ability to work in a dynamic environment, and opened to constant changes.
* Good understanding of the tangible and intangible value that Procurement adds to the Business.
* Proven track record of working with Compliance, Procurement and Legal processes.
* Good knowledge of regulations and laws including the UK Bribery Act 2010.
* Knowledge of IT tools in Windows and Office
* Knowledge of SAP (ERP System) is a preferred requirement
