Finance Officer
ENHANCED DBS REQUIRED
JOB TITLE: Finance Officer
PAY SCALE: £15 per hour
STATUS OF POST: 36 hours
LOCATION: Enfield
START DATE: ASAP until October 2024
Job Purpose
To supervise and oversee all day-to-day aspects of School finances and other associated administrative work, to ensure the provision of an efficient and effective service to the School.
ENHANCED DBS REQUIRED.
Senior Finance Officer Duties
* To support the F&O in all aspects of School Finance.
* Maintaining the Schools accounting system.
* To import the signed budget to the schools financial management system.
* Produce and evaluate financial reports as required and to assist where necessary in the compilation of statistical information and returns.
* Responsible for ensuring that day-to-day accounts are up to date and prepared for Year End.
* Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day income and expenditure, including BACS, online payments in and out, cashless systems, cash procedures and banking.
* Responsible for carrying out the month end process.
* To be responsible for ensuring that the Cashflow Forecast is regularly updated.
* To ensure that all associated payroll reports are regularly kept up to date and ready for input onto the year end audit schedule.
* To prepare the extra-curricular payment schedule for the F&O and reconcile this with the information provided by the external payroll provider.
* Process monthly payroll journals and cash book payments to Third Parties, produce monthly reconciliation spreadsheets showing costings charged to budgets, all within in a timely manner.
* Responsible for processing weekly payment runs by BACS and uploading onto the Schools banking system, cheque runs and monthly direct debits, cross checking that all invoices have been entered accurately and correctly and ensuring payments are made on time. To be responsible for the security of unused cheques and other controlled stationery.
* Responsible for ensuring that payments to individuals are backed up with Tax Status Approval.
* Responsible for the weekly reconciliation of ParentPay.
* Responsible for the processing of paperwork for any School vehicle.
* To manage and monitor the school mobile phones that are allocated to staff, ensuring contracts are suitable to the school’s needs and to maintain up to date records regarding staff declarations and usage.
* To manage and maintain the school’s Asset Register and ensure that relevant items are marked accordingly.
* Manage and maintain the Schools Fixed Asset Register.
