Job Description:
Our client is an exciting Consumer SME business recently acquired by a larger competitor and is seeking an Interim Financial Controller to support the Group Finance Director and acquired finance team in reviewing and enhancing the function and conducting the post-completion accounts.
Location: Warwickshire (4 days p/w onsite)
Contract length: 3-4 months
Candidate Rate: £500-£600 per day (outside IR35)
Key Responsibilities of the Interim Financial Controller
* Oversee, train and mentor the finance team, providing guidance and training on financial operations whilst supporting non-finance stakeholders in organising and documenting new processes and procedures.
* Conduct a thorough review of the completed balance sheet and profit and loss statements to identify and resolve discrepancies whilst verifying that accounting periods are correctly closed and updated.
* Create and implement a new cash flow forecast and introduce processes for VAT, Duty, Intrastat, and EC Sales compliance.
* Prepare and file completion accounts and tax returns with advisor support and assist the group Finance team with any remaining acquisition-related issues.
* Conduct a review of the current finance system for suitability for group reporting and future usage.
Essential Requirements of the Interim Financial Controller
* Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
* Manage and mentor a team of finance professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure the department’s success.
* Familiar with working in a smaller business/division within a larger group.
* Great communication and interpersonal skills.
* Knowledge of technical accounting, including post-completion accounts.
* Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
