Position : Group IT Director
Location : Birmingham, West Midlands

Exciting opportunity for a Group I.T Director to join this highly innovative organisation manufacturing and supplying cutting edge products world-wide with Plants in the UK , Europe and America
You will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive global I.T strategy and driving digital transformation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and customer experience. You will also identify and capitalise on emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge
The role :-
IT Operations Management:
* Oversee the global IT infrastructure, ensuring reliability, security, and scalability.
* Manage IT budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation to optimise cost-effectiveness.
* Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and industry standards.
Team Leadership:
* Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing global IT team.
* Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
* Facilitate professional growth opportunities and succession planning within the IT department.
Stakeholder Engagement:
* Collaborate with senior leadership to support business goals through technology solutions.
* Communicate IT strategies and initiatives effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
* Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to ensure the best value for the company.
Project Management:
* Oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of key IT projects.
* Implement robust project management methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
* Evaluate project outcomes and implement lessons learned to improve future performance.
Risk Management:
* Develop and implement IT risk management strategies to mitigate potential threats.
* Ensure robust cybersecurity measures are in place to protect company assets.
* Prepare for and manage IT-related crises and incidents effectively.
* Adhere to all internal safety, HR, environmental and quality guidelines and procedures.
The candidate
. You will be educated to Degree level in I.T , Computer Science or a related field
. Experienced in building an effective IT team in a Global business , ideally in manufacturing and production and /or Distribution
Technical expertise
Knowledge of I.T infrastructure
Cloud computing
Cybersecurity and enterprise applications
ERP and CRM systems would be an advantage
Useful Additional Expertise
The following would be advantageous but are not essential:
* SAN server familiarisation
* System Centre Configuration Manager and Operations Manager
* Microsoft Teams
* Familiarisation with RMM and MDM tools
* SQL database querying and reporting
* Ability to train staff with technical material and information
* Experience with secure configurations
* High level of experience in CE CE+ and 27001 and cyber advanced knowledge
* Experience with networks including :- QOS, VLAN’s, MPLS technology,
* AP’s - Wireless networks advanced skills and configuration
* Security Clearance
