Job Title: Corporate Solicitor
Salary: Up to £100,000
Location: Bolton
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday - 8am to 6pm
Position reports to: CEO and Head of Legal

Role Overview:
As a Corporate/Commercial Solicitor, you will play a vital role in our Corporate Law department, managing a team of paralegals and legal support staff and assisting clients with complex business matters and transactions. You will work closely with other legal professionals, providing expert advice and guidance on corporate law matters, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, commercial contracts, and general corporate governance. Your expertise will be relied upon to ensure our clients receive a high-quality legal service to meet their needs.
Some of the typical responsibilities include:
• Providing legal advice and guidance to clients on complex commercial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and corporate finance.
• Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, including partnership agreements, asset purchase agreements, share purchase agreements, shareholders agreements, loan agreements, consultancy agreements, non-disclosure agreements and service agreements.
• Ensuring that clients comply with relevant laws and regulations, such as data protection, competition law, and consumer law.
• Developing and maintaining relationships with clients, building a network of contacts, and seeking opportunities to expand the business.
• Managing and mentoring the legal team, providing training and development opportunities, and ensuring that they deliver high-quality legal services.
• Managing the team’s workflow, ensuring that deadlines are met, and prioritising tasks to meet the needs of clients.
• Staying up to date with the latest legal developments and best practices in corporate and commercial law and sharing knowledge with the team.
Overall, the Corporate/Commercial Solicitor will play a vital role at Spencer Churchill Law in providing legal advice and support to our clients as well as mentoring and training our paralegals and legal support staff.
Qualifications/Work Experience:
• At least 3 years PQE in corporate/commercial law including but not limited to the broad areas mentioned above.
• Some management experience of paralegals/support staff.
