Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons in humanities subjects, including history, geography, and social studies.
* Develop a comprehensive curriculum that fosters critical thinking, creativity, and a love of learning.
* Utilise a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
* Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
* Encourage students to develop a deeper understanding of historical events, geographical concepts, and societal issues.
* Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development.
* Organise and supervise extracurricular activities, such as field trips and clubs related to humanities subjects.
* Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Qualifications and requirements:
* A degree in a humanities-related field (e.g., history, geography, literature, and social studies).
* Qualified teacher status (QTS) is essential.
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
* Experience working in an alternative provision is desirable.
* Must provide 2 professional references.
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
* Proven success in teaching humanities subjects.
* Familiarity with modern teaching approaches and technology integration.
* Excellent communication skills are needed to inspire and engage students.
* An eagerness to embrace new cultural experiences and teaching methods.
