Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team starting in September. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working with SEN pupils and be passionate about making a positive impact on their learning and development. This full-time role involves working closely with teachers and other support staff to provide tailored assistance to pupils with diverse needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support SEN pupils in their learning, ensuring they can access the curriculum effectively.
* Assist in the planning and delivery of individualised education plans (IEPs).
* Provide one-on-one and small group support to pupils with a range of special educational needs.
* Help create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
* Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to implement effective support strategies.
* Monitor and report on pupil progress, adapting support as necessary.
* Participate in school activities, events, and ongoing professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working with SEN pupils in a primary school setting is essential.
* Strong understanding of various special educational needs and effective support strategies.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
* Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to undertake a new one.
