Job Title: Syndicate Accountant
Department: Finance
Reports to: Syndicate Finance Manager
Main Purpose of Job:

To undertake regulatory and management reporting for certain Lloyd’s entities, supporting the Head of Syndicate Finance and Syndicate Finance Manager as required.
Key Responsibilities:
Review input data and prepare, file all Lloyd’s Regulatory returns for Lloyd’s Syndicates, including Annual returns, Quarterly returns, US and Canadian Reporting (including schedules F&P), and US and Canadian SIS.Prepare Syndicate Management Accounts.Assist with planning and production of Syndicate annual report and accounts, management information, financial schedules, and monthly and quarterly accounting information as required.Contribute to the development of systems for syndicate reporting.Assist in the migration of key tasks to syndicate personnel and monitor the accuracy of this data.Liaise with syndicate staff, auditors, and actuaries as necessary.Participate in ad hoc finance projects. Ability to produce consistently accurate work to tight deadlines.Ability to progress issues on own initiative, with sufficient judgement to know when to refer to Syndicate Finance Manager or Head of Syndicate Finance.Ability to work in an orderly and well-organized fashion.Willingness to learn and put in extra effort when circumstances require.Good communication skills, both verbally and in writing. Key Technical Skills, Knowledge, and Professional Qualifications Required:
Solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles.Qualified in a professional qualification or qualified by specific and relevant insurance experience.Familiarity and experience with Lloyd’s reporting requirements, e.g., working knowledge of QMA/B returns, US/Can Reporting, and Solvency II returns.Sound knowledge of IT systems used within the accounting function – especially Excel, Vision, and Sun Accounts.
