Grafton Banks Finance is working with an international charity, headquartered in West Sussex, to recruit their new Group Accounting Manager.
This role will lead a small group finance team with responsibility for the group statutory reporting and audit, and month end group accounting.
We are looking for a qualified accountant who has strong technical accounting skills and ideally IFRS experience. Experience working in the charitable sector would be useful but isn’t essential. This could be a great first move into industry for a chartered accountant in practice with charity clients in their portfolio.
The role offers lots of flexibility around hybrid and remote working. You will have the option of working hybrid with 2 days per week in the clients’ offices in West Sussex, or you can work largely remotely with monthly visits into the office.
Key tasks:
* Manage the global group audit process including pre audit preparation, management of the timetable and main point of contact for audit team staff and audit manager.
* Accountability and responsibility for the production of the consolidated group financial statements.
* Preparation and review of FRS and UKGAAP reporting and technical accounting papers.
* Interpret and implement new IFRS developments/standards and SORP guidelines.
* Manage and develop the group accounting function and team members.
* Oversee the monthly production of the Finance team’s cost centre management accounts and review monthly the forecast for the Group Accounting Team.
* Support the payroll process through the monthly review of the payroll reports prior to submission to payroll bureau.
Salary for this role is up to £57,500 + benefits including 26 days holiday and excellent pension. As well as the requisite technical accounting skills you’ll need to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong Excel skills.
