About the Product Developer Role
As a Product Developer, your role will focus on developing R&D innovation and renovation projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and align with the planned strategy.
Key Responsibilities
* Actively participate in the creation of food briefs with marketing and other stakeholders.
* Collaborate with supply partners and other functions to scale up and implement new products according to briefs.
* Develop and deliver food products that meet consumer, brand, and business needs, ensuring safety and quality.
* Ensure standards are met in line with internal policies and regulatory requirements, including sustainability compliance, suitability assessments, and shelf-life requirements.
* Test and evaluate alternative raw materials to ensure contingency and cost savings; attend factory trials and launches.
* Contribute to problem resolution and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
* A passion for food and a self-motivated attitude are essential for success in this role.
* Possess a food science degree with at least 6 years of experience in the related sector.
* Knowledge of nutrition, children’s foods, and industry regulations, with a strong background in processing raw materials.
* Creative, a natural problem solver, and able to recognize where change is needed for improvement.
* A contributing team player with project leadership skills and experience in product development, nutrition, and food technology.
* Open to customer feedback and able to respond productively.
* Excellent at articulating features and benefits of ideas, a good timekeeper, and effective at meeting deadlines.
More Details
This is a 12-18 month fixed-term contract based on the South Coast, offering a hybrid working arrangement with 2 days on-site and 3 days working remotely. The role offers a competitive salary of approximately £42,000, dependent on experience. The working week is Monday to Friday.
