Job Description:

We are looking for a warm and friendly team player to join us on a part time basis as a Creche Worker for our child focused Perinatal Creches in Edinburgh. Our specialist Parent and Infant Relationship Supports (PAIRS) Creches reduces the barriers families may face when accessing perinatal counselling sessions. We provide a variety of additional supports to build parenting confidence, reduce separation anxiety and encourage parent-infant bonding.
Working 22 hours per week across 4 days (Monday-Thursday), you will provide a welcoming, safe, secure and stimulating space for the babies and children who are in your care. You will support and nurture each child you look after, tailoring your approach to each individual child and their needs.
We will expect you to work to the highest professional standards to ensure that quality standards are met and that the voice of the infant as at the core of what you do. You will also need excellent communication skills as you will be required to engage with parents in a sensitive and understanding manner, to support their emotional wellbeing.
You will be joining a great team, so we need you to be able to work in collaboration with them to ensure the potential of the creche is maximised and that the infants in the creche are well looked after.
Ideally you will have a minimum of an HNC/SCQF 7 in Childcare or equivalent qualification, but if you don’t a willingness to work towards a relevant qualification is vital. Other social care qualifications may also be suitable and will be considered. If you have some experience working with babies and young children that would be beneficial, but what is most important is that you are passionate about delivering great care every day to our very special visitors.

The annual full time equivalent salary for this post is £24,090 - £24,488

This post requires you to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undertake the necessary vetting checks. You will also be required to be registered with SSSC and it is your professional responsibility to ensure that you meet the standards and criteria for registration.
