Teaching Assistant – South Birmingham
Are you a Teaching Assistant who has experience supporting children with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours? Do you want to break down barriers to communication and help young people to engage with education?  This award winning SEMH school is looking for a Teaching Assistant to provide 1-2-1 support for a Year 10 students with ADHD and challenging behaviours. This role requires a Teaching Assistant or behaviour mentor who has previous experience supporting secondary aged children with SEMH needs or challenging behaviours.

You will be joining a welcoming team of teachers and Teaching Assistants who work together to ensure that every child is given a second chance. The leadership team are supportive and the clear behaviour policies allow you to focus on delivering outstanding support. Students are aware of the guidelines and expectations, however, require additional classroom-based support. This role requires a Teaching Assistant who has previous SEMH experience and ideally holds a Level 3 Teaching Assistant or Classroom Assistant qualification.

Job Role:
* Supporting challenging behaviours on a 1-2-1 basis.
* Working as a Teaching Assistant / Behaviour Mentor.
* Acting as a positive role model for students.
* Delivering 1-2-1 intervention sessions focused on communication and behaviours.
* Helping students to reengage with education.
