Robert Walters: Public Sector Division - Management Accountant - Permanent - Up to £45,000 per annum
Role: Management Accountant
Type: Permanent
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum
Qualification: ACA, ACCA, CIPFA or CIMA or Part Qualified
Working Pattern: 2 days in the office and 3 days from home
Location: Loughborough/Leicester
Duties of the Management Accountant:
* Preparation of accurate and timely monthly management accounts
* Complete monthly management commentary highlighting variances from budget/forecast and last year
* Review profit & loss and balance sheet each month to ensure accuracy of information
* Support the month end closing process and complete reconciliation of accounts as required
* Preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts on an ongoing basis
* Liaising with senior managers to work on detailed income budgets and forecasts
* Calculate budget project costs for each income line budgeted
* Understanding project profitability (core contribution)
* Produce Risks and Opportunities schedule
* Preparation of claims in connection with government grants and contracts, including realignment of forecasts for the remainder of the financial year
* Keep an audit trail of transactions to support claims
* Liaise with auditors on project claims where necessary
* Raise partner claims/ invoices
* Manage the monthly project reporting process
* Set up project budgets and monitor and re forecast every month with the help of project managers
* Review project manager comments and take action as appropriate
* Provide monthly variance reports on projects
* Financial reporting back to funder on key projects o Monthly meetings with project managers on key projects
