Accounts Assistant
Permanent £26,500 DOE
Monday – Friday 37.5 hours per week

Our client is a long established manufacturing company operating from impressive offices in the heart of Staffordshire with an excellent salary and benefits package.
The role of Accounts Assistant will be working part of a small multi-functional accounts department and will require a competent and hands-on candidate who is willing to work as part of a tight knit team with various tasks and duties.
Main Duties:
The role is an all-round accounts post and will include various finance duties:
Purchase ledger
* Matching purchase invoices to delivery notes
* Coding and posting purchase invoices
* Reconciliation of statements
* Preparing payment runs
* Posting payments
* Investigating queries
* Preparing month end accruals
Sales Ledger
* Preparing invoices from shipments.
* Checking and posting sales invoices and receipts
* Debtor chasing
General
* Monitoring weekly cash flow and assisting in preparing information for the 12 week rolling cash forecast, prepared weekly
* Update cash book and bank journal daily
* Banking
* Petty Cash
* Ad hoc reconciliation of nominal accounts
Candidate skills and experience required:
* Attention to detail
* Team player
* Strong admin and organisational skills
* SME experience – understanding how sales/ purchasing/ production and accounts inter-relate
* Strong all rounder
* AAT qualification or similar
* Engineering company experience advantageous but not essential
* Multi-currency again advantageous but not essential
