Payroll Assistant * Contract: Six-month fixed term

* Salary: Market rate, dependent on age & experience
We are seeking a Payroll Assistant to join our team on a six-month fixed-term contract. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a payroll department and proficiency in using Sage Payroll. This role is crucial in supporting our payroll function and ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing.
Day-to-day of the role: * Assist with payroll processing from timesheets and other source documentation.
* Set up new starters accurately on the payroll information system.
* Maintain records and generate reports on absences such as sickness and holidays.
* Prepare statutory documentation including P45s and P60s.
* Manage and escalate inbound payroll queries.
* Liaise with Managers to resolve missing or inaccurate information and ensure timely completion of tasks.
* Prepare monthly summary payroll reports.
* Send pension letters, P45’s, and other payroll-related communications.
Required Skills & Qualifications: * Experience working in a payroll department is essential.
* Proficiency in using Sage Payroll.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
* Excellent communication skills for liaising with various departments.
* Ability to manage and prioritise tasks effectively.
* Knowledge of statutory payroll documentation.
