Interim Capital Accountant
Cedar is currently partnering with a local authority in London to find an experienced Capital Accountant to join them for a 3-6 month contract. The successful candidate will take a lead on all capital accounting processes and be responsible for one member of staff.
Rate: £550 - £650 per day (Inside IR35)
Location: London
Hybrid: 1-2 days in the office
Responsibilities
* Oversee the capital accounting process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local authority regulations
* Analyse and reconcile capital accounts, providing insights for strategic decision-making
* Collaborate with department heads to monitor and manage capital budgets
* Implement and improve financial controls to safeguard public funds
* Provide financial support to other departments with capital programmes
* Lead the capital accounting function, ensure fixed assets are accurately recorded and associated charges are comprehensive in planning and forecasting.
Requirements
* Ideally CCAB Qualified or qualified by experience.
* Experienced in all aspects of Capital Accounting within a local authority.
* Up to date knowledge of RAM (Real Asset Management System).
