Job Description:
As a Civilian Investigator, their primary responsibility will be to provide essential support to OICs (Officer’s in Charge) on cases within Economic Crime that require further investigation, including taking statements, following reasonable lines of enquiry, researching documents, assisting with case files and disclosure. This role offers regular office hours, Monday to Friday. We are looking for candidates with a strong background in managing complex investigations, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle challenging cases involving intricate data.
Location: London, Hendon
Contract: 12 months with possible extension
Work hours:Full time - 3 day WFH - 2 days in office
Salary: £20.08 per hour PAYE - £25.51 per hour Umbrella

Main duties and responsibilities
* Taking written statements from victims and witnesses of crime.
* Assisting in the preparation of suspect interviews.
* Work collaboratively with partner agencies.
* Assisting in the gathering of evidence by reviewing and collating documentary evidence relating to the investigation, including third party material.
* Completing applications for examinations of digital media and forensic submissions.
* To assist officers in the preparation of casefiles to include disclosure schedules
* Preparing and presenting evidence for court proceedings in Magistrates and Crown Court.
* Using internal IT systems to research and maintain records regarding individuals and investigations.
* Carrying out further enquiries in relation to investigations at the request of the Supervising Officer(s).

Essential
* An investigative background, to include experience of compiling files (preferably of an investigative nature) including disclosure schedules, and previous experience in dealing with people (in particular, victims and witnesses).
* Knowledge of criminal law and Police procedures.
* Intermediate IT skills, to include the use of Microsoft Office products.
* The ability to appraise, evaluate, collate and present information/evidence obtained, in order to ensure that all relevant information/evidence is at hand and is of a high standard.
* The ability to communicate effectively (commensurate with the grade and requirements of the post) with managers, members of staff (at all levels) and members of the public.
* Motivated and disciplined style working on own initiative to complete the task and as part of a team to achieve overall objectives.
