Castlefield Recruitment are currently working with a reputable local authority to recruit for a Head of Finance - Children’s Social Care and Education. The position will be for an initial 6 months and can offer remote and flexible working.
Responsibilities include;
* Full oversight of Children’s Social Care and Education Finance including the management of two Accountants
* Lead on the preparation and management of budgets, ensuring alignment with the council’s financial regulations and policies
* Deliver robust financial planning, forecasting, and reporting to senior management and stakeholders
* Building strong working relationships with key stakeholders, initiating, and driving continuous improvement in service performance and efficiency
* Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure that financial controls are in place, and that financial risk is understood
The successful candidate;
* Experience working within Local Authority Finance – in particular within Children’s Social Care or Education
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to relay financial information to non-financial stakeholders
