talentED are working with a Primary School who are looking for a full-time 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant, a role where you’ll play a vital role in providing tailored support to our SEN children across the school, helping them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. This role is to start in September 2024, depending on the successful candidates notice period.
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant - your responsibilities will include:
· Providing one-on-one support and assistance to SEN children with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and challenging behaviours, both inside and outside the classroom.
· Implementing individualised learning plans and interventions designed to meet the unique needs of each student, promoting their academic progress and personal development
· Supporting students in developing social skills, emotional regulation, and coping strategies to navigate the school environment and interact positively with students and staff
· Collaborating closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and external support professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to meeting the diverse needs of SEN children
· Creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued, supported, and empowered to succeed
The ideal candidate will possess:
· Previous experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH, and challenging behaviours
· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
· Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting the diverse needs of SEN children, including those with complex behavioural challenges
· Adaptability and resilience to navigate challenging situations and provide effective support in a dynamic school environment
· A commitment to continuous professional development and a desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable children
