We are seeking a Desktop Support Engineer to join our client’s team permanently. The Desktop Support Engineer will be working full-time in the office, and closely with a team of engineers, thriving to provide IT Support. The Desktop Support Engineer must have experience in an IT position for at least 6 months.
Key Responsibilities for the Desktop Support Engineer:
* Installing and maintaining hardware and computer peripherals
* Installing and upgrading operating systems and computer software
* Responding to end-user support requests
* Contacting end users to find out the nature of the problem
* Troubleshooting hardware and software issues
* Completing job reports and ordering supplies
* Potential travel to satellite offices and ability to work after hours when necessary
Skills Required for the Desktop Support Engineer:
* Willingness and ability to learn new skills and use new types of information
* Ability to prioritize and perform the required solution
* Competency in installing, diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing computer hardware and software on PCs and related equipment
* Excellent punctuality skills
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Previous experience in a similar role
* Knowledge of popular operating systems, software applications, and remote connection systems
