Job Description:
Accelerate Teaching is excited to announce an opportunity for a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Religious Education to join a vibrant secondary school in Kirklees starting September 2024. This is a fantastic chance to make a significant impact on students’ lives, fostering a deeper understanding of diverse religious and philosophical perspectives.
As a Teacher of RE, you will be a vital part of our school’s commitment to delivering high-quality education. We are looking for an experienced professional who can inspire and challenge students, promoting critical thinking and empathy through engaging and comprehensive lessons.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, prepare, and deliver stimulating and effective RE lessons that cater to the diverse needs of all students.
* Develop and implement schemes of work and lesson plans in line with the national curriculum.
* Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
* Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued and encouraged.
* Engage with parents, carers, and colleagues to support the academic and personal development of students.
* Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
Essential Requirements:
* A recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent).
* Proven experience teaching Religious Education at the secondary school level.
* Strong subject knowledge and a passion for RE.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
* Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
Desirable Attributes:
* Experience in delivering innovative and interactive lessons.
* Knowledge of recent developments in RE education.
* Ability to contribute to extracurricular activities and school events.
* Strong organisational and time-management skills.
