It’s interesting, exciting, and stimulating work. You’ll be working on designs for a variety of businesses, and for a range of products.
These include famous names that everyone knows. You’ll see some of the things you design on TV, or supermarket shelves.
Covering a range of industry sectors, including: medical and scientific, transport, commercial and industrial, and consumer.
Examples include the Stanley knife, Stella Artois can and glass, Lynx deodorant cans, and the Eurotunnel Shuttle.
You’ll be working on design and development projects, and solving complex engineering problems.
The business is one of the world’s leading product design and development consultancies. They have been around since the 60s, and have never made an engineer redundant.
Graduates play a key part in the business; you’ll get great training and development both in-house, and on courses. You’ll be joining a team of consulting experts, and in time will be one yourself.
The business has already taken on 10 top graduates this year; they had their pick of offers, but chose this, which says a lot.
WHAT YOU’LL GET
A salary of £30,000. Plus if you work any extra hours it’s paid at time and half (so you could end up with another 15k).
And there are not one, but 3 bonuses paid between July-September including one of 10% of your salary (other 2 are around £450 each).
There is an activities and Social fund, with various subsidised sport activities throughout the week. Staff run Football, Badminton, Squash, running, go karting and cycling trips away.
And you get to finish early on a Friday.
WHERE YOU’LL BE DOING IT
Location is in Warwick. It’s a nice part of the country, and most pf the graduates who work there have relocated.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
A Mechanical Engineering related degree (Aeronautical and Automotive are ok). BEng is preferred. This will need to be from a university with a strong engineering department, and will need to either be a high 2:1 (68%+) or First. And ideally strong A levels including Maths and Physics.
You’ll also ideally have engineering related hobbies and interest, for example tinkering with machines etc.
These are strict requirements, but the others working there fit this profile, and it’s something the clients like.
