Job Description:
Production Engineer
* Job Type: Full-time
* Location: Wythenshawe
* Salary: £30,000-34,000
We are seeking a Project/Production Engineer to provide essential engineering support for a manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing manufacturing orders, workloads, Bill of Materials, and related documentation. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of CAD drawings and ERP systems such as Syteline or SAP.
Day to Day of the role:
* Provide engineering support for the manufacturing facility, ensuring adherence to company procedures, standards, and health and safety policies.
* Read and interpret CAD drawings, converting data into BOMs on the ERP system.
* Analyse, plan, and manage all Manufacturing orders and workloads.
* Offer technical leadership to the production team, optimising manufacturing processes and resolving technical issues.
* Prepare and update manufacturing process documentation (SOPs) and tooling for product manufacture.
* Achieve ERP ’super-user’ status and provide training to colleagues on Manufacturing Planning procedures and the Syteline system.
* Coordinate planning, material, and system updates in response to design changes.
* Attend and represent Manufacturing at various departmental and ERP/Planning review meetings.
* Ensure database tasks are actioned and updated, highlighting overdue tasks to management.
* Oversee Production staff’s adherence to job time/progress booking and job-track/ERP processes.
* Assess production schedules in advance to ensure all material requirements are met.
* Review and prepare GQCPs/Manufacturing procedures for process control and audits.
* Undertake ongoing training in relevant industry standards and practices.
* Work additional hours/weekends during peak periods as necessary.
* Adhere to all company Health and Safety Policies and drive company vehicles as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven skills and experience in interpreting CAD drawings.
* Knowledge in manufacturing processes such as Vac form, machine shop, injection moulding, or final assembly.
* Excellent organisational and IT skills.
* Keen attention to detail and commitment to high-quality standards.
* Flexibility in working hours and willingness to work overtime during busy periods.
* Strong team player with good interpersonal skills to liaise with other departments.
