Job Description:
Alchemy have partnered with an Auction House based just outside of London who are looking for someone to join the team as an Assistant in the Old Masters department.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, have knowledge or a keen interest in Old Master paintings and the art market as well as strong administrative skills.

Responsibilities:
* Assist in the sale process: research, catalogue, condition report, and lot items.
* Support valuation and advice services for Old Master Paintings.
* Assist in responding to electronic valuation requests and participating in valuation events.
* Contribute to auction planning and presentation, including creating social media content.
* Help with insurance and probate valuations, ensuring market accuracy and legal compliance.
* Aid in developing business leads and supporting department growth.
* Liaise with clients, helping to manage consignments and maintain relationships.
* Adhere to internal policies, including Data Protection and AML requirements.

Qualifications:
* Some experience or coursework in art history, especially Old Master Paintings.
* Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team.
* Enthusiastic, proactive, and willing to learn.
* Strong organisational, communication, and client relationship skills.
* Driving license and vehicle desirable due to location of site.
