Job Description:
Are you passionate about digital forensics and seeking a new challenge in law enforcement? Our client, a police organisation based in Ferndown, Dorset is currently looking for a Digital Forensic Gatekeeper to join their team on a temporary 12-month contract. If you have expertise in quality assurance and possess excellent communication skills, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of digital forensic case submissions by acting as a specialist gatekeeper for every exhibit submitted. You will maintain a professional relationship and communication between police officers and Senior Investigating Officers (SIOs), while also ensuring compliance with legislation, Forensic Science, ICO, and GDPR requirements. Your role will play a vital part in enhancing the quality of case submissions.
Main Responsibilities:
Provide Early Investigative Advice and support ongoing investigations at all levels of criminality.
Formulate Digital Examination Strategies to set national standards in line with guidance on charging and Protocol between the Police Service and Crown Prosecution Service.
Manage demand into Digital Forensic Teams by focusing resources where required.
Improve the service delivery of Digital Evidence across the region.
Qualifications and Skills:
Previous experience of working in a forensic environment.
Experience of delivering CPD through presentations, coaching, or mentoring.
Previous management/supervisory experience is desirable.
Experience of building and maintaining internal and external partnerships.
Contacts:
Regularly deal with OICs from all four forces.
Collaborate with DFU, DVU, and Imaging Managers for case queries and updates.
Engage with senior stakeholders and SW Business Support Teams for performance reporting.
Coordinate with external suppliers for work being submitted externally.
Work with CSI Coordinators for work being submitted to front-line Kiosks.
